The Story Behind This Piece
This massive pop-art style piece was my very first project - a gift for my close friends who got married in Thailand. 🌴💍
I was inspired to make this piece because their flat felt like it was missing a personal touch - something that truly reflected them. As someone who loves colour and storytelling through art, I’d always wanted to create something that would give their space that pop of colour. That’s when I had the vision for this piece, and as soon as I pictured it in my head, I put pen to paper. Thankfully, they loved it.
Each illustration has a story behind it. I wanted to capture everything that made their love story unique: the way they met, their first date, their shared love for board games, their favourite trips, and even the little quirks they love about each other. From the moment they got engaged to their amazing wedding in Thailand, every detail found its place in this vibrant, retro-inspired piece.
It’s a really cool and unique way to showcase their journey together and the moments that brought them closer forever. 💖
What I Focus on While Creating
Along with getting all the details in, my focus when designing this piece was to create a harmonious balance of colour throughout, ensuring it remains visually striking and well-balanced from any distance.
